1) What is the difference between a Tonne and a Ton?
A ton is 2000lbs and a tonne is 2205lbs. At Carr Excavating our aggregates are sold by the metric tonne.
2) How many wheelbarrows are in a yard of soil?
In a yard of soil there are approximately 7 to 10 wheelbarrows.
3) What should I use to top-dress my lawn topsoil or triple-mix?
There is no real answer to this question. Grass seed will grow in either. Based on price, topsoil is the more economical choice. With the proper seed application and fertilizer either will work just fine. For more info see how to maintain a healthy lawn.
4) How much dirt can I pick up in my truck?
The most common truck is a half ton. These trucks will hold approximately a half yard or half a tonne. The make does not matter it is typically the same for all. Our staff will help you with this as we know what a safe load would be for each vehicle.
5) Can I pick up the product in bags?
Yes, we have bags at our Dunlop street location for our customers to take any product they require home. We also welcome blue bins or garbage containers for customers to fill.
